CCI — Center for Critical Imagination

Full case study by Alles Blau

The Center for Critical Imagination (CCI), hosted by the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP), researches neoliberalism and the rise of post-neoliberal paradigms, taking Brazil to diagnose global trends.

To express the multiplicity of contexts and historicities contained in the idea of Brazilianness, Alles Blau created an identity based on a generative platform. Through this tool, the hard edges of the logotype are dissolved, blurring the notion of there being only a single Brazil.

For this process, I was invited to help concieve the logo, later developing a tool to generate logo variations and to apply image effects.

CREATION PROCESS

Alles Blau invited me to help concieve the logo throughout a week, when we sketched simple prototypes coded in p5.js and Blender, including simple user interactions.
Later, I developed a more robust tool to include as many parameters as possible, allowing the Alles Blau team to test variations and refine the identity's visual direction.
The final tool hid most of the initial parameters from the end users, ensuring the consistency of the generated pieces.
