Mountaineer Mission is a prompt from Nodevember 2023, an one month challenge to create node-based projects.
For the year's edition, I seeked to push the limits of procedural modelling, not only focusing on a final result, but also highlighting the process behind it.
This prompt was done after a trip to PETAR, a state park in Brazil with rock-filled waterfalls and caves.

Creating the rock models was basically finding multiple ways to beat up a sphere. A lot of thought
was put into creating the shader, which exceeds both in its realism and stylized versions.
Blender's interface appears as part of the images, highlighting its importance in the creation
process.
The checker pattern is a reference to Blender's viewport, but, together with the red backgrounds, it
creates a harsh contrast with the realistic rocks, as to reveal their virtual nature.
