Inspired by the production quality and textures of brat, Charli xcx's latest album, the project distorts texts, blending foreground and background into an unreadable texture then back to text again.
While the whole album is an inspiration, the production in 365, by A. G. Cook and Cirkut, and Guess, by The Dare, were the main influences for the distortion effect.
creation process
The texts are 3D objects deformed into circles or cylinders, with the option to have a different
text at the backface.
The distortion is a simple blur and clamp pass, with varying values to control the effect strength
to create a liquid-like texture.
Everything was done in Blender with Geometry Nodes and the Real-time Compositor.
